Jérôme Sussiau, self-taught photographer, start capturing images in his teenage years, wanting to slow down time which passes to see better, to take advantage of the moment longer, more calmly. Instinctive portraitist, it applies to catch a moment of truth, a gaze, a tenderness.
Passionate about artistic representation of the nude and by the language of the body which notably emanates from contemporary dance, Jérôme goes naturally towards male and humanist portraits. A desire to purify his images wins out in 2014 towards artistic nude. The bodies, in their original simplicity, become the main subject of his work. The sets, objects and clothes gradually disappear little to leave only the essence models, without parasitic artifice.
Throughout its exhibitions, playing with poetry through the void, he favors the compositions refined and an almost absent decor for focus attention on textures, the shapes and the landscape of the body. His universe is full of sweetness, all in cottony, vaporous textures and pure. The poses are light and peaceful, suspended and aerial. These last years, Jérôme continues to question male masculinity and fragility.
